Trudy Chapman is the President of Chapman Coaching Inc. She is a personal and professional development coach with a deep background in policy analysis and strategic communications consulting. While she coaches teams to improve their group dynamic, she also works with individuals, especially those facing major life transitions such as career changes, retirement or empty nesting. She’s been self-employed since 1990 in group facilitation, consulting, and freelance writing and broadcasting. Her eclectic background includes time spent at CBC National Radio News in Toronto; with national industry associations such as the Canadian Steel Producers Association; and with the National Capital Region YM-YWCA helping them raise $12 million to renovate their various facilities in Ottawa. She’s pleased to be here tonight to facilitate this WBN Networking Night and the discussion around our topic: Strategic Networking: Leverage Purpose for Results.

Erin Crotty has been a proud member of the WBN for 10 years.  She has sat on numerous WBN Committees both as a member and as Chair, and has also served on the WBN Executive.

Erin is a recovering lawyer! After 14 years working as a lawyer and law firm manager, she was ready for a change. Driven to help people realize their full potential, Erin recognized she could make a greater impact by being in business for herself - with a twist!

Trained through the Protocol School of Washington, the Conselle Institute of Image Management, and Pro-Active Business Leadership, Erin is now a certified  executive coach and business etiquette, protocol and image management expert who has turned her passion into a thriving business – BloomStra Consulting, based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Erin helps her clients harness the power of etiquette and image management to build successful relationships in business and reach their professional goals. Her clients learn how to increase their confidence and credibility, distinguish themselves in any business or social situation and, ultimately, ‘Outclass the Competition’.

Still working with law firms, Erin’s reach also extends to other professional service firms such as accounting firms, entrepreneurs, corporations, health care professionals, local and national professional associations, organizations and renowned education institutions.

A national speaker, coach and trainer, Erin was recently honoured by Distinctive Women, a national publication and online community, that showcases exceptional entrepreneurs and outstanding achievers and was recognized as a leader within her industry.

Layla Darwish

Layla Darwish is Vice President, Commercial Banking, with BMO Bank of Montreal.  Layla leads a team of Commercial Account Managers in the Ottawa, Brockville and Pembroke markets.

Layla joined BMO Financial Group while obtaining her degree from Carleton University.  With over 20 years of experience, Layla has held leadership positions in Investment, Retail and Commercial banking.  Layla works with her team to provide trusted advice to Entrepreneurs and Corporate Clients.

As a leader, Layla empowers and encourages her team to embrace change and have courage to make bold decisions.  Layla is a noted role model, mentor and coach who is always willing to share her knowledge and experience.

bmo_t2rb_e-1Layla is passionate about the advancement of women in business and promotes BMO as the bank of choice for women.  She serves as a board member with the GroYourBiz Ottawa chapter.  She also believes in promoting her profession and giving back to the community by volunteering her time.

Danielle Robinson – President, Ottawa Senators Foundation

Ms. Robinson began her employment with the Ottawa Senators Foundation in March 2006 in the role of Director of Corporate and Community Relations.  In 2008 Danielle was unanimously appointed to the role of President by the board of directors. She represents the Foundation and   Senators Sports & Entertainment as a spokesperson, community ambassador and is a member of the executive management team. During her career with the Senators organization Danielle has created and executed various plans focused on corporate sponsorship, event fundraising, donor cultivation, community relations board governance, and strategic philanthropic investments. Under her leadership Foundation revenues have grown from $2.5 million to nearly $6 million annually and together with a team of seven employees and more than 1,500 volunteers, the Foundation has raised nearly $50 million in the past 10 years. This work has resulted in the enrichment of thousands of lives in eastern Ontario and Western Quebec and hundreds of partnerships within both the corporate and the charitable sectors.

Prior to working with the Senators organization, her career experience included work with     Let’s Talk Science, Volunteer Canada, United Way/Centraide Ottawa, and Clarica/Sun Life Financial.  Danielle has completed studies at institutions such as York University, Fanshawe College and Boston College.  She holds a post graduate certificate in Corporate Communications & Public Relations, Corporate Community Involvement and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Mass Communications.  She is a recipient an IABC Gold Quill Award and EXCEL Award and the Ottawa chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized her corporate community relations work with the Outstanding Philanthropic National Corporation Award. In 2011 the Ottawa Business Journal selected her as a Forty Under 40 recipient and in 2012 she was profiled in Distinctive Women Ottawa and in its national publication in 2013.

Away from the office Danielle attends the swimming lessons and hockey/football games of her son Kierin. She herself enjoys a variety of activities including yoga, golf, jogging, travelling, cooking, cottage life, time with friends and family, and of course Ottawa Senators hockey.
