Monthly Theme: Mental Health

Session Name: Finding your personal path to mental health and well being

Conversations about mental health are on the rise, and we all know how important mental health is for personal and professional wellness. However, when life gets complex, it can be hard enough to navigate your day - let alone seek out the right type of support, tools and coping skills to ensure your own well-being. Amber will introduce you to simple things that you can do every day, both for your own mental health and for people around you who are struggling, and show you how to find the long-term mental wellness practices that work best for you.

Amber Branny, Mindfulness and meditation facilitator

Amber Branny comes from an HR background and is a health and wellbeing advocate.  She has provided workplace wellness & leadership development programs to national organizations, and is passionate about helping people take ownership of their physical and mental health.

Amber holds a BA in Psychology and Human Resources and a post-graduate diploma in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion. prior to moving to Ottawa, she worked as the western lead of Telus's HR Wellness Strategy and completed a Leadership and Conflict Resolution program through the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

More recently, Amber became a Mindfulness and meditation facilitator. As the mom of two daughters, she is motivated to increase the tools and supports for parents and children to reach new levels of communication and resilience.

In late 2019 Amber joined The Resilient Mind Project, which provides tools and strategies for supporting and addressing mental health.  She is pioneering a new summit called Align 20|20, which will bring leaders together to learn strategies and actionable steps to increase their awareness of mental health and wellness.
