According to Statistics Canada, about 20% of small businesses fail in their first year, about 50% in their fifth year. Some industries, such as tech, see 63% shut down within the first three years! Is this surprising?
It doesn't matter if you're a Startup with a great idea or a business with an excellent product. A business can only go so far without a roadmap, but a business plan is so much more than just a roadmap. A solid plan allows a business to weather market challenges and pivot quickly in the face of crisis, like the one we are struggling with right now, the post-pandemic world.
As a former entrepreneur and a Business Banking expert for the past 15 years, Mira Yasiri has worked with small and medium-sized enterprises to grow and accomplish strategic plans. She'll take us through the advantages of a well-thought-out business plan, the different points in a business's life cycle that a business plan becomes necessary, and the key considerations of business plans.
