Session Topic - Powers of Attorney For Ontario Business Owners
Charlotte McCurdy is a senior lawyer and Practice Leader – Wills & Estates at Tierney Stauffer LLP in Ottawa. She has been practising in the areas of wills and powers of attorney, estate administration, trusts and elder law, as well as corporate/commercial law for over 32 years. She was first called to the Bar in Manitoba in 1992 and was a partner at a major Winnipeg law firm until 2021 when she relocated to Ottawa. Charlotte has a dual jurisdiction practice and advises clients in both Ontario and Manitoba.
She is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, is currently Co-Chair of the Manitoba Bar Association’s Wills, Estates & Trusts Section, and on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s Wills, Estates & Trusts Section. Charlotte is a member of the Ottawa Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning Council of Canada.
Her practice focuses primarily on advising small to mid-size businesses, as well as simple to very complex estate and incapacity planning, and estate administration. Charlotte’s well-rounded experience gives her the unique ability to identify and advise on the intersecting issues that arise for clients with business interests when dealing with their estate and incapacity planning.
