Do you know what cyber security is and why you should care about it? As individuals and business owners, we spend a lot of time in cyber space! Alicia Greeley and Melanie Anderson from the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) branch at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) will provide an overview of cyber security fundamentals, the reality of the cyber threat landscape and the services that the CCCS provides to businesses. They’ll cover tangible cyber security tips and point you to free resources to help you and your business. Q&A will follow.
With Guest Speakers: Melanie Anderson & Alicia Greeley, Canadian Centre for Cybersecurity
Melanie Anderson is the Director General, Information Assurance at the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, responsible for applied cryptographic research, architecture, engineering and development of secure cryptographic solutions. She is passionate about promoting the well-being of women in the workplace, mentoring and encouraging girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM. In 2023, Melanie was recognized by Deloitte as one of 30 Women in Cyber at the forefront of the cyber revolution and she was named as one of Canada’s Top 20 Women in Cyber Security by IT World Canada.
Alicia Greeley is a manager of Key Management & Operations for the Government of Canada within the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) branch at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). After attending Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic in St John’s, NL, Alicia accepted a job as a software developer with CSE. Alicia has held various technical and technical leadership roles at CSE over the last two decades and is currently working within CCCS. She is passionate in creating diverse and inclusive working environments within technical fields. In her spare time, she spends time with her family, two daughters and is known to love cats!
